Chip & Scratch:More than 1/4 inch in diameter (aggregate). Split & Broken:7/8 or less of complete whole kernel at least 1/8 inch in diameter. Serious Defects:Includes decay,rancidity,insect injury and damage by mold. Other Defects:Includes gum,shriveling,brown spot and discoloration.

Shelf Life, Care and Handling

With proper handling, natural almonds may be stored for up to two years. Roasted almonds keep for one year. Shelf life increases with refrigeration. Optimal storage temperature is 32° to 41°F, 0° to 5°C (65% relative humidity).

Shipping

A 40-foot container will carry 880 - 50 pound cases, 1680 - 25 pound cases, 20 - 2200 pound fiber bins, or 900 - 50 pound inshell bags. A 20-foot container will carry up to 36,000 pounds, or 470 inshell bags. Truck load and LTL (less than truck load) orders are shipped on shrink wrapped one way pallets.
